Join us on the 13th of July for our London Walk

For a while I have wanted to organise a walk in our great capital City. With the help of our son, Will Dyer, this will be taking place on the 13th of July. The walk is about 6 miles. Mostly along the Regents Canal then through Victoria Park, along the Lee navigation to Queen Elizabeth Park (which most of us still think of as the site of the Olympics). Will will be leading the walk. He has lived in the area for 4 years and knows it well.

To join the walk we will be meeting at 9:34 at Reigate Station. If you would prefer to go from Redhill we will change there and take the 9:49 Thameslink to London St Pancras arriving at 10:35. Then there will be a short walk to the start of the walk.

To give us a bit more flexibility we have decided to have a picnic in Victoria Park. This is a lovely and spacious park near Bethnall Green. But it is slightly more than 1/2 way along the walk. If you think you will get hungry bring some snacks. You can bring your own picnic but there will be a stop at a local supermarket for those who would prefer to buy something.

The walk is generally level and easy. Trainers are probably fine or walking boots if you would prefer. As we are walking near canals there may be some mud and puddles.

We will finish at Stratford Station and make our way back to Victoria and then to Reigate
